Ten American Saddlebreds trotted into the ring at Breyerfest 2022 at the Kentucky Horse Park. This annual event for horse lovers of all ages, hostedmore than 30,000 attendees of all ages July 15-17.
The Marc Of Charm Demo Team, created to celebrate 2021 Breyer Model Horse and 2015 World’s Grand Champion, Marc Of Charm, brought together the versatility, kindness, and excitement of the American Saddlebred to horse lovers.
Marc Of Charm also is known as “The People’s Horse” for his outstanding career at the top of the sport as well as his engaging personality and kindness. Marc won the Five-Gaited World Grand Championship at the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville, Ky., in 2015.
The Marc Of Charm Demo Team was comprised of horses and riders from William Woods University, University of Kentucky Saddle Seat Team, Wingswept Farm, Ancora Stables, and Meadow Reflections Farm. While Marc Of Charm could not be there in person, Riverdreams' Remarcable, owned by Owen Weaver, was able to represent his sire in stunning fashion. Trotting proudly into Breyerfest, Riverdreams' Remarcable displayed the athleticism, grace, and presence that is the hallmark of Marc Of Charm.
“We are grateful to work with Breyer Model Horses, Marc’s owner Riverdreams LLC, and his team at Monnington Farm, to share Marc Of Charm with the Breyer Model Horse Community,” said ASHBA Executive Director and CEO, David Mount. “Marc has been a fantastic ambassador of our breed in and out of the show ring, and sharing his captivating beauty and charming charisma through this Breyer Model will help more people learn about and fall in love with the American Saddlebred,”
After their performance each morning, the Marc Of Charm Demo Team headed back to their stalls where they continued to steal hearts and introduce thousands to the American Saddlebred.
2014 Breyer Model Horse and American Saddlebred, Paddyngton's Mark of Distinction, owned by Holly Armstrong, also was in attendance. Paddyngton's Mark of Distinction is a World Champion parade horse and he wowed the public with his beautiful pinto coloring, flashy parade tack and brilliant animation. Rare Rhapsody, a 5-year-old American Saddlebred, owned by Judith Oetinger, enjoyed meeting fans young and old while representing the kindness of the breed.
ASHBA thanks all of our horse owners, participants, trainers and ground crew for helping make this weekend a success. A huge thank you also goes out to Marc Of Charm’s owner, Riverdreams LLC, his trainers, Monnington Farm, and Sarah Track from William Woods University for bringing the Marc Of Charm Demo Team to life.
