ASHA Partners to #SharetheSaddlebred at Eastern National 4-H Round Up
Published Date: Nov 25, 2019
ASHA led a #SharetheSaddlebred weekend at the 2019 Eastern National 4-H Horse Round-Up during the North American Livestock Exposition in Louisville, KY! Each year over 700 hundred 4-H youth members from 25 different states travel to Louisville to spend a marathon weekend testing their equine knowledge and expanding their equine horizons. These young leaders work hard all year long to qualify to be selected by their state to compete in equine hippology, horse judging, horse bowl and communications.
This year ASHA Special Programs Manager Alexandra Harper worked with Signature Stables of Louisville, KY to provide American Saddlebreds to present in a breed In-hand and Saddle Seat pleasure class for the Horse Judging and Horse Bowl competitors. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Signature Stables team and their riders for volunteering their time to represent the America Saddlebred for the Saturday competition rounds.
On Sunday, the ASHA was honored to join forces with the Eastern National and other equine industry leaders to sponsor the prize program and awards breakfast. We were proud to be a co-sponsor of the Horse Bowl Team and Individual Overall Award Winners prize premiums and provide a $250 scholarship for the Horse Judging Individual Overall Award Winner. ASHA Marketing and Communications Manager Jessica Cushing was on hand to present these awards and meet with many of the over 1000 breakfast attendees.
The ASHA looks forward to strengthening our relationship with 4-H and finding more ways to support programing that affords us many mutually beneficially opportunities. As we continue to partner on educational initiatives with 4-H it will bring enrichment to our current ASHA Youth programs and provide more avenues to share the American Saddlebred with dedicated young horse enthusiasts from across the country.
