ASHA Youth Scholarships
Since 1991, the American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association has awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships to youth involved with American Saddlebreds. Each year, ASHA recognizes its members in grade 11 or higher, age 21 and under, on the basis of academic success, financial need, extracurricular activities, including community service, involvement with American Saddlebred horses and personal references. An interview may be included in the selection process, and applicants are asked to write an essay, which includes information about school experiences, special interests, hobbies and ASHBA activities.
2019 Scholarship Recipients Kennedy Wilson, Haley Krupnick, Natasha Adams, Kaeli McCarty, and Cassidy Buchanan.

Melissa Moore Passion for the Breed Scholarships
The Melissa Moore Passion for the Breed Scholarship is used to provide financial assistance for ASHBA and KASPHA members, who are students seeking undergraduate or graduate level education, and have a sincere passion for all aspects of the American Saddlebred breed. The purpose behind this award is to encourage the youth of this industry to seek higher education or training in the hopes that they will use the skills and education achieved with the assistance of this award to benefit the future of the equine industry. Two scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis, one to an ASHBA member and one to a KASPHA member.
To be eligible, applicants must submit evidence of academic success, financial need, extracurricular activities (including community service), involvement with American Saddlebred horses, and personal references. An interview may also be required. Further requirements apply for KASPHA members.
Completed applications, attached transcripts and financial information are due in the ASHBA office no later than December 1st. Letters of reference are due by December 15th.
