American Saddlebred Horse Association Declaration of Intent to Compete for ONE Regional Championship
Beginning in 2008, horses must compete and receive a ribbon (1 through 8) in three separate
competitions within the region, during the qualifying period, in the same section within the
Saddlebred division, to qualify for the Regional Championship Class in that region's
championship event. If the Region has a co-championship, you must declare for only one.
If a horse qualifies for the Regional Championship in more than one region, a declaration
must be made of the Regional Championship event in which it will compete.
For the 2008 Regional Championships, the qualifying period is from August 1, 2007, to the
final entry closing for the Regional Championship. Qualifying shows need not be USEF-licensed but
must be recorded in the ASHA database of competitions, and ASHA must receive official results;
Regional Championship competitions themselves must be USEF-licensed. In the case of a sale
of a horse, all qualifying records will travel with the horse, except for Equitation.
Previous qualifying requirements for Regional Championship competitions are replaced by
the above qualifying requirements. Horse (or Equitation riders) may compete for only one
Regional Championship title in a given
calendar year, even if exhibiting at more than one such competition.
This form will be submitted to Brenda Newell at the ASHA office.
