Saddlebred World Loses Juanita "Nete" (Hull) Groub

Lexington, Kentucky Juanita "Nete" Hull Groub, 89, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Seymour, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. Born May 15, 1922, in Columbus, she was the daughter of Harley William and Phoebe Irene (Pyle) Hull.

On March 12, 1947, in Hollywood, Fla., she married Thomas Thompson Groub, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Groub was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Seymour. She attended Indiana Business College in 1940. Mrs. Groub was the owner of 2004 Five-Gaited World's Grand Champion, CHBoucheron, CHFace Card, 1992 World's Champion of Champions Ladies Five-Gaited, and CHX's And O's, 1998 World's Champion of Champions Amateur Three-Gaited. Mrs. Groub worked for the USO. She met her future husband while working at the Gulf Stream Race Track. She also served on the board of the Fountainhead Condominiums.

She was a prior member of the Hospital Guild and was instrumental in establishing the Groub Serenity Garden at Schneck Medical Center. She served on the Women's Council of what was then the Boys Club of Seymour and she was also a Girl Scout leader.

Loved ones she leaves behind are her children, Sally (Vince) Gayeski, Susan Judd and John (Linda) Groub; grandchildren, Sarah (Brad) Kronland and T.C. (Rachel) Judd; great-grandchildren, Jackson Kronland, Sawyer Kronland, Finley Kronland, Alexandra Judd, Clark Judd, Hana Judd and Haile Judd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Hubert Hull; and sisters, Jackie Schumaker and Eileen Whipker.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel in Seymour from 3 PM to 6 PM Monday.

Graveside services will be at Riverview Cemetery at 10 AM Tuesday with Pastor John Erickson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be written to First Presbyterian Church or the Groub Serenity Garden of Schneck Medical Center.
