Saddlebred Welcome Reception, Open Committee Meetings Begin Convention Thursday, February  18

Lexington, Kentucky - The American Saddlebred Horse Association's (ASHA) annual Saddlebred Summit and Youth Conference opens on Thursday, February 18, at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort and Spa in Lexington, Kentucky.

Highlighting the opening day's activities will be a series of committee meetings on all matters of interest to Saddlebred constituencies, virtually all of which are open to all members who register for the convention. As is customary, the Finance Committee's open meeting begins the day, at 8 AM. Convention registration begins at 7:30 AM Thursday, with vendors permitted to move in Wednesday evening.

Preceding the convention on Wednesday, February 17, is the United States Equestrian Federation's (USEF) judging clinic, open this year to auditors. For more information, and for clinic registration applications, visit the USEF website, here. With special interest this year in improving judging, this is an ideal opportunity for all owners, breeders, and competitors to learn about the Federation's oversight and commitment to excellence in officiating.

Thursday evening is the traditional Welcome Reception, beginning at 5 PM at the Marriott Griffin Gate, sponsored in part by the FEI and Emerging Disciplines Committee. New this year will be the presentation of a remarkable video showcasing almost all the ways Saddlebreds compete and are enjoyed, from traditional high performance on Saturday night at Louisville, to a broad range of other high performance and recreational activities, including the FEI disciplines. New advertising approaches will also be unveiled, anticipating the World Equestrian Games opportunities this year in Kentucky.
