ASHA and ASR Boards Announce Organizational Changes
Lexington, Kentucky - The Boards of Directors of the American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) and the American Saddlebred Registry (ASR) have approved the establishment of two different management positions, the Registrar and the Executive Director.
The Registrar, who will oversee the operations of ASR and will report to the Executive Director of ASHA, and the Executive Director of ASHA, who will serve as the chief of staff of ASHA. The ASHA Search Committee is now soliciting applicants for the Registrar position through June 1, 2012, per the job posting for the Registrar, the description of which is now on the ASHA website, here. The job posting for the Executive Director of ASHA is also on the ASHA website, here.
The Boards believe that these two separate positions are in the best interests of both organizations. The Registrar’s focus will be on the registrations of pedigrees and transfers of ownership, guarding the purity of the American Saddlebred, and record-keeping, while the focus of the Executive Director will be on promotion, marketing, education, and equine welfare, as well as strategic planning, communications, and publications.
