ASAM Show Judges

The American Saddlebred Association of Maine is pleased to announce the Judges for their ASAM Long Horn Fun Festival (ASAM & MHA Points this year!) and ASAM Dunegrass Classic Spring Show (NEHC regular points, MHA  B rated double points, ASAM quadruple points).

The Long Horn Fun Festival Show will have newly NEHC licensed Paulette Brim as judge. She has over 3 decades of showing and has been judging for nearly the past decade. She was an MHA licensed judge prior to 2008. She attained her NEHC license this year.

The Double Judged ASAM Dunegrass Classic Spring Show will feature two NEHC licensed veterans judging in the middle of the ring; Sue English and Jo Hight. English was invited to judge in 2007 but was campaigning her horse (Qualified for Louisville!) thus accepted the invitation this year. Both Hight and English are NEHC licensed in both English and Western Seats.

Both shows will be held at the Hollis Equestrian Park in Hollis, ME, rain, snow or shine. This year look for the Long Horn show to change up the class list a little from previous years. It will still have many of the fun/game classes. However, because it is a MHA Affiliated D Show this year, it will have a few more MHA recognized classes for point considerations. The class list will be set up to allow the fun/game classes to run later in the day. It will still offer a day-pass to ride all day, or exhibitors can pay per class. The Dunegrass Classic (new sponsorship this year) will feature the double judging as past years. However, in 2008 this will be a MHA Rated B show, offering more money and points. ASAM double the points for each judge, thus offering the ability for quadruple ASAM points for members.

DID YOU KNOW?  ASAM is one of the few clubs that recognize leadliners and walk trotters for year end awards no matter the type of horse ridden. This is a unique opportunity for the younger riders in Maine to win more year end awards. FMI on this program, email us at asamnews@yahoo.com
